Rumors on 2010 Lego Technic sets

Over at Eurobricks there's been a few rumors about the new Lego Technic 2010 sets.

It appears that some new place holders appeared on the German Amazon website. This pages have now been removed from Amazon.

The rumoured models include:-

Lego Technic Buggy - set 8048
Lego Technic Compact Excavator - set 8047
Lego Technic Forest Tractor with Crane - set 8049
Lego Technic Helicopter - set 8046
Lego Technic Mini Telescopic Handler - set 8045

At the moment I guess the Forest Tractor with Crane will be the lagship set for 2010.

It would be good if the Compact Excavator was similar to Jennifer Clark's model.
. It would also be good to see a return of the pneumatics which haven't been in a model for some years.

Instructions for the main 2009 models now on Lego.com

Lego have uploaded instructions for the main 2009 Technic Lego models. This includes instructions for the Crane Truck (set 8258), Front Loader (8265) and the Snow Groomer (set 8263).

The B model instructions were released in early July 2009. The B model instructions have also been released for the 8063 Sowing Machine (basically an alternative traler).

Review of Lego Technic Tractor and Trailer set 8063

An excellent review on the Lego Technic Tractor and Trailer has been added to the Eurobricks forum by the user known as Blakbird. Blakbird was also the creator of the Technic Wheel Loader mentioned elsewhere.

The review contains many photos of the tractor and a few of the trailer. It can be found in the Lego Technic section of Eurobricks forum here.

From the review it's more than apparent that the tractor model is virtually the same as the previous Technic Tractor (set 8284). There's a few minor changes including newer shaped body panels around the motor, and a slightly different 3-point linkage on the rear. Apart from that their identical.

The trailer contains 13 of the new 1x5x11 body panels (part 64782) and one new Linear Actuator (part 61927c01). Apart from those parts there's nothing else in the set that's new.

It has been mentioned that this Tractor and Trailer set may be a special set exclusive to Toys R Us as they're currently the only ones selling it.

Lego Technic Tractor and Trailer (set 8063) Listed on Toys-R-Us website

Although previously mentioning that the Lego Technic Tractor and Trailer set appeared to have been posponed to 2010, the set has appeared on the Toys-R-Us uk website. It's currently listed as out of stock, but they must have had stock, or are expecting it soon. Price will be £89.99 which makes it £20 more expensive than the Wheel Loader (set 8265).

Also shown for the first time is the B model - it's a seed drill.

Review of Lego Technic Wheel Loader – Set 8265

An excellent review on the Lego Technic Wheel Loader (set 8265) has been added to the Eurobricks forum here.

The review is well structured, with photos of the box, the various part bags, various stages of the build, and the final model along with similar models from the past.

So far no major issues have been mentioned with this model and it looks like it will be the major success story of Lego this year. Unfortunately there's been some issues with the "build quality" of the large Lego Technic Crane Truck.

There's also a video on YouTube showing what can be done when you add this set together with the Lego Technic Bulldozer (set 8275) remote control parts. It appears to use one of the XL Motors to drive the model and one to steer, and uses one Medium Motor to raise and lower the bucket, and one to tip it.
