Some prices have been published for the new 2010 sets. The prices have been quoted in Euro's, then worked out from that.
Lego Technic Motor Bike 8051 - €39.99 / $58.99 / £36.99
Lego Technic Container Truck 8052 - €60.99 / $88.99 / £54.99

Lego Technic Excavator 8043 - €164.99 / $239.99 / £149.99
Given the price of the Rough Terrain crane it looks like it might actually be quite a big set. Possibly having more than 1,000 parts

The $ don’t make any sense as LEGO has never used the actual corrency conversion between € and $ (or £ for that matter).
I agree that the prices stand a very good chance of being completely wrong. The costs to manufacture items in various countries differs and as such the retail prices for those regions will vary as well. LEGO has production facilities in several places around the world. The only time currency conversion is actually correct is when you buy something –from that region–.
If I’m wrong, then that will be a bummer. Cause there ain’t no way I’m spending $240USD for an excavator. I don’t care how many power functions it has. $240USD is way, way, waaaaaaay too much.
This sucks. I was really wanting a detailed manual excavator in the $50-$60USD range.
