New Lego Technic Part for 2011 – Mini Linear Actuator (mLa) (part 92637c01)

With the new Lego Technic Backhoe Loader (set 8069), Lego introduced the new Mini / Micro Linear Actuator.  Retracted, the mLa is 7 studs long, 2 studs wide, and 1 stud depth.  Extended the mLa is 11 studs long. Under load the mLa can exert about 900grams of pressure before the clutch kicks in.

New Lego Technic set for 2011 – Backhoe Loader (set 8069)

New for 2011 is a new Lego Technic Backhoe loader.  This time there's no pneumatics but 4 new Lego Technic Micro Actuators (part 4612100)

The front bucket is raised and lowered by a small gear on the left hand side of the model.  Steering is via the black gear on the roof.  Outriggers are extended by small gears at the back.  The rear bucket is moved by 2 small gears on the arm.

New Lego Technic set for 2011 – Bucket Truck (set 8071)

Set for release in August 2011 is what Lego have called a Bucket Truck.  In the UK this would probably be called a Cherry Picker or Elevated Platform truck.



Part count will be about 600 pieces and is expected to cost about £45.

The set will have the following features:-

  • Gear knob on left side of the model will raise the platform.
  • Gear knob on right side of the model will turn the large turntable rotating the arm.
  • 2 Further gears inside the model will raise and lower the outriggers
  • Large gear knob at the back of the model will steer it.
  • Lifting bonnet and opening doors

New Lego Technic set for 2011 – Flat Bed Truck (Set 8109)

Not much is known about the Flat Bed Truck at this stage. A vehicle recovery truck would be a better description.  It looks like the model has a sliding flat bed at the back, possibly has a Linier Actuator to move the bed, possibly has a manual winch, possibly has a "spectacle lift" at the back. Has Hand Of God steering
