Lego Technic Tractor and Trailer (set 8063) Listed on Toys-R-Us website

lego-technic-tractor-trailer-set-8063-boxAlthough previously mentioning that the Lego Technic Tractor and Trailer set appeared to have been posponed to 2010, the set has appeared on the Toys-R-Us uk website.  It's currently listed as out of stock, but they must have had stock, or are expecting it soon. Price will be £89.99 which makes it £20 more expensive than the Wheel Loader (set 8265).

Also shown for the first time is the B model - it's a seed drill.

Lego Technic Crane Truck Advert on YouTube

The Lego Technic team have uploaded the official advert to Youtube. The model in the video actually looks quite large until you see the size of the kid!

The first Crane truck has also appeared on eBay here.  It'll be interesting how much it finally sells for.  As can be seen it's about the same price as the online Lego Shop!

New Parts and set Inventory from the Crane Truck (set 8258)

The Technic Lego Crane Truck (set 8258) parts inventory has been added to Peeron here.  There's also new high resolution images of the front, inside and back of the box.

Amongst the new set are 5 new parts which are detailed below.  There's also 9 new Lego Technic panels but I'm not too interested in them.  If you are, they can be found on the set inventory.

Technic Beam 5 x 11 with Open Centre 3 x 7 (part 64178)

This part forms part of the inner structure of the truck and gives it rigidity

Given the layout of the axle holes it would have been impossible to build this out of existing parts

Again this part forms part of the inner structure of the truck and gives it rigidity.

Technic Wheel 62.4 x 20 S Type II with Short Axle hole (Part 86652)

This is exactly the same as existing wheel 32020 but has a shorter axle hole.  Who knows why they've changed it ever so slightly.

Technic Gear Rack 1 x 13 with holes and axle holes (part 647811)

This is a very odd part with it's holes going in one direction and axle holes at 90 degrees.

Alternative Instructions for Summer 2009 Technic Models

Lego have updated their B model website with instructions for the newer 2009 models.

8258 Crane Truck - B model Duty Wrecker

Has the new Tractor and Trailer (set 8063) been canceled or postponed?

The Lego Technic Tractor Trailer (set 8063) first surfaced in February 2009.  Since then we’ve not seen any new images of it.  It’s not appeared in any new catalogues and it’s not currently listed on Lego Shop@Home.

There are two rumours currently circulating.  The loudest rumour is that it’s been dropped for this year and will be released early in 2010.  The quieter rumour is saying that it’ll be released later this year – possible in time for Christmas.
