A few leaks have started to appear of the 2010 Lego Technic Sets. So far we now know one set will feature the return of pneumatics, but so far none will feature power functions.
From the looks of the leaked photos, the Forest Tractor with Crane will be the flagship set of 2010. We know it will have pneumatics, and mighr even contain some power functions. The compact excavator had the possibility of a full pneumatic model with some power functions but unfortunatly this isn;t going to happen.
We can also see the return of some older parts that have been resurected.
Lego Technic Compact Excavator - set 8047
The compact excavator looks rather similar to the previous Lego Technic Excavator (set 8419) from 2004. Unfortunately no pneumatics or linear actuators with this set. This will probably retail for about £20.

Set 8047 box. Again a 2 in 1 model so we'll have to wait ti see what the alternative model is. Agew range 8 years old to 14 years old. |

From this picture we can tell Lego have returned to the original treads for the excavator (part 3873). There looks like a new part - the grey 1 plate thick link arm attached to the bucket. |
Lego Technic Helicopter - set 8046
This set doesn't look like any of the previous Technic helicopters. Early impressions are it is a very simple set with few parts. Price possibly around £15.

The rotter's seem to be built from standard parts. There is a rod linking the front to the back that seems like it may be a new longer rod - possibly 16 blocks long. |

From this view we can see 2 gears on the side. One possibly turns the rotter blades, one possibly a winch under the chopper. |

It looks like we may see a return to more older parts. The gear at the back seems very like the ones found in the older differential gears. |
Lego Technic Buggy - set 8048
![]() |
From the front of the buggy we can see a return to the old style suspension / shock absorber (part 731c01).
There's the possibility of new steering with suspension parts that can be seen at the front. Looks like a small gear wheel on the top of the roof which probably provides the steering. There may also be some new panels. |
Lego Technic Forest Tractor with Crane - set 8049
While there's no photographs yet of this models but thanks to leak from a Czech Republic website, we know it will contain pneumatics. Pneumatics have been absent in recent years as the linear actuators were used. It seems it may be rather like the Air Tech Claw Rig (set 8868).
